Bandwidth Prediction

Abstract

In the ISP companies such as Didehban net, in which I was working, predicting needed bandwidth is a challenge. It is equal to the summation of bandwidth usage of all users and varies day by day. As the head of market research and development, I used time series analysis to predict needed bandwidth. In normal situations, the algorithm worked well in predicting needed bandwidth. However, as we expected, it was vulnerable to some cases such as sociopolitical incidents. All in all, it is not being used independently for prediction, but it is a good tool that gives some insights to CTO.
